© 1998-2008 | Lost in Translation Question: AnswerMan: A doggone good question. Superficial research (the only kind which AnswerMan performs) indicates that the only discernible difference between the Japanese and American versions of the Akita is that of language adaptability. Whereas the Japanese Akita initially understands and executes commands issued in its native tongue, it will eagerly follow American-issued orders upon successful completion of a one-week English as a Second Language class. Sadly, the American Akita exhibits no such cooperative spirit. It not only stubbornly refuses learn a single Japanese syllable, but demands to be taken to the American embassy immediately upon setting paw upon Japanese soil. [ Home ] |
